My workspace had visible black mold around the windows and carpets. In 2020, I experienced the following symptoms during my exposure to mold: lethargy, anxiety, headaches, dry, itchy skin and blepharitis in my eyes. I also had a lot of inflammation in my body (gastritis, seborrheic dermatitis and blepharitis). I had to take a low dose antibiotic for a year to clear up the blepharitis. When I was home for the summer or during holiday breaks my symptoms lessened. When I changed jobs in 2022, my symptoms went away almost immediately.  Being exposed to toxic mold is extremely damaging to your health and it is often very difficult to get people to really understand.

My journey with mold came very unexpectedly when I put the pieces of the puzzle together with my GI symptoms. I had GI issues out of the blue and nothing was adding up. I decided to research and found that mold toxicity and biotoxin illness can include GI issues. We had our home professionally tested for mold and the results were shocking. We had no visible water damage or smells. Our shower was leaking and we had no idea. This set the trajectory of healing from biotoxin illness and detoxing from mold. Once we knew that mold was the issue we were able to identify other symptoms that were related that we just thought were normal. With proper and reliable testing and proper mold remediation, healing can happen. Lindsay walked with me through such a dark season in my life. Her guidance and knowledge on all things biotoxin illness and healing was such a light for me. I trust and value her opinion on all things mold. Forever grateful for meeting her and for the help she gave me in my mold journey. If you are using Lindsay and her husband for identifying potential mold in your home, you are in excellent hands.

In 2017 after a flood in our home, our kids began showing unusual physical maladies- ENT infections that didn't resolve - even with antibiotics. Headaches and sleep issues impacted the whole family. We Finally ended up with one child in the ER for low oxygenation, breathing treatments, and then an asthma diagnosis. Our youngest child who had been sleeping closest to the point of the flood - and where mold was later found - ended up having an emergent surgery to remove adenoids. Once we learned that the mold exposure had compromised the health of our entire family we were able to push insurance to do a deep dive into the restoration of our home - taking it down to the studs. We started the entire family on charcoal tablets, and chiropractic, and ended up throwing up two full dumpsters worth of textiles from our home - including all the beds and most of our clothes. The toxic mold didn't just impact our family's physical health - but really ended up taking its toll on us emotionally as well.
